TAO by Gervasoni

An exhibition conceived by the designer Federica Biasi for the historical brand Gervasoni 1882 for the Milan Design Week 2023.
A journey to discover the world of the company and the products. In Eastern philosophy the symbol of Tao, also known as “Yin and Yang”, represents movement, the flow of things. Rooms of pure colours, following the rhythm of the natural world, leading the visitor to a journey, celebrating the past production of the brand while highlighting the news. Federica Biasi presents the new Samet sofa, Hashi and Brisé outdoor collections in the space.

Midsummer Manerba

Show-room project and exhibition During Milan Design week 2022

Recalling the ancient festivities for the summer solstice, Federica Biasi was inspired by the cycles of nature for her choice of concept based on a floral mood. The light touch of a celebration shared with others, the romanticism of long summer days and the warm colours of the cornfields are brought to life by the installation, which brings out the essentially convivial nature of the new collections of furniture and spaces for work, co-working, co-living and workspitality.

LUME – New Nespresso Collection

Nespresso is known for collaborating with designers from all around the world to create its lines of coffee accessories, Les Collections. Following the work of Konstantin Grcic for its Vertuo glassware cups and Big-Game for its PURE Collection, the brand appointed Federica Biasi for the creation of its most recent LUME Collection, launched in November 2020.

Manerba – Wonder Office

Wonder Office: is the claim Federica Biasi has chosen to interpret the new office vision of Manerba, which after several years returns to be present at the Salone del Mobile.
Under the guidance of Federica Biasi, it will take shape in an installation – created by Studio Milo – Young and contemporary, fresh and elegant, but above all immersive – by making each product dialogue in a coherent way, the concept of gentle total office will be enhanced, for spaces of sensitive work primarily to the well-being of the person and to the recovery of the dimension of privacy, even in open and co-working environments.
For this first year of artistic direction, Federica commissioned Philippe Nigro to design an entire modular system, which includes sofas, bookcases, containers and consoles.

 

Rising Talent Awards 2018

Federica Biasi, Antonio Facco, Marco Lavit Nicora, Kensaku Oshiro, Federico Peri and Guglielmo Poletti are the six Italian designers who have been chosen for the Rising Talent Awards Italy. A wonderful opportunity for them to show the entire design community their immense potential and the direction Italian design is headed. I am proud to announce to have been nominated by the master Andrea Branzi.

For Maison&Objet, I chosen to tell the story of my own creative background, with a selection of iconic products from the past, revisited using unexpected materials, as well as a series of exclusive objects designed specially for the occasion. Among those: a faience tableware collection, with motifs hand-painted by Christian Pegoraro (Bottega Nove) and a rug designed in collaboration with CC-Tapis, inspired by a night she spent in the desert, which associates earthly tones with North-African fabric patterns. Her exhibition will be entirely framed by a metal structure crafted by Mingardo.

“I chose Federica Biasi for her quintessential design and poetic ideas, which deliver subtle, yet very particular messages,” commented Andre Branzi, her mentor for the Rising Talent Awards Italy 2018.

New products: Federica has chosen to tell the story of her own creative background, with a selection of iconic products, including a special edition of Dama for Incipit as well as a series of exclusive objects designed especially for the occasion. Among those: a tableware collection called UMI, with motifs hand-painted by Christian Pegoraro (Bottega Nove) and the first edition of OM a carpet designed for CC-Tapis, inspired by a night she spent in the desert, which associates earthly tones with North-African fabric patterns. Federica Biasi presents also Marianne a brass bookcase for Mingardo in honor of the famous Marianne Brandt and an armchair inspired by the french elegance called Sophie.

Operæ 2017 – Why design

I’m going to present a new series of pantographed metal tiles for Mingardo during the design Festival of Operæ. Operæ chooses Alice Stori Liechtenstein, founder of the Schloss Hollenegg for Design, as curator of the 2017 edition. Alice has identified the theme Why Design as the interpretative lens for looking at the works on display.
Operæ will take place from the 3rd to the 5th November 2017 and it will find its new venue at Lingotto Fiere, which already hosts Artissima – International Fair of Contemporary Art and Club to Club – Operae 2017 – Why design

Mirrò in the Armani Campaign

Mirrò, a mirror designed by Federica Biasi for Mingardo has been selected for “Le jeu” a Web Campaign for Giorgio Armani, direct by Andrea Bax for presenting a beautiful collection of bags. You can discover the Video here.
