This glazed ceramic ashtray emerges as an object with profound roots, inspired by the ancient vessels for flowers and seeds; these are precious containers that, in Asian tradition, accompanied nomads through seasons and across territories, safeguarding the seed of renewal. It is far more than a mere accessory; it is an element that imbues spaces with energy and potency, a “non-object object” that converses with history and anthropology.

Its smooth, rounded form evokes the essence of those life-holding chests, reinterpreted today into a shape that is both essential and symbolic. The meticulously crafted diagonal grooves on the lid suggest the flowing passage of time and the eternal cycle of the seasons, echoing the natural textures of materials that, over the years, become enriched with memory and meaning.

Within, a functional indentation transforms the everyday act of smoking into a ritual laden with symbolism, paying homage to a past where every object was an integral part of a journey of life and migration. This project stands as a testament to an ancient narrative; an art form that celebrates the bond between humanity and nature, transmuting the quotidian into an experience replete with meaning and beauty
